Yulianna Avdeeva’s piano recital offers us a programme cut according to the performing
nature of the artist. She is evidently at home in Chopin’s music (in 2010 she won the Chopin
Piano Competition in Warsaw), and Robert Schumann’s and Franz Schubert’s pieces are
also her favourites. Specially demanding, extensive and ground-breaking in the piano music
tradition of the time Schubert’s Fantasy ‘Wanderer’ concludes the attractive recital of Yulianna
Avdeeva, ‘who can truly make the piano sing’ (Gramophone, 2015).
