The Slovak pianist Daniela Varínska, celebrating her jubilee this year, belongs to enormously skilful performers with powerful rendering and a refined manner. Despite her distinctive technical skills she avoids the empty virtuoso exhibitionism and searches out works possessing serious content and philosophical overview. Demanding pieces from solo, chamber and concertante piano literature can be found in her concert repertory. The programme of the solo recital brings a survey of centuries of the best compositions of world and Slovak piano music.
