Edita Gruberova after two years in BratislavaEdita Gruberova live in concert on Wednesday, September 14. Perhaps the most distinctive personality of the world opera of the past three decades, a phenomenal soprano Edita Gruberova will visit Bratislava again after two years of absence. In a dramatically tense opera Roberto Devereux ossia Il conte di Essex she will demonstrate her rich repertoire of expressive means and vocal mastery together with other opera stars conducted by Friedrich Haider. New Talent 2005 – Award of the SPP FoundationInternational Forum of Young Performers initiated in 1969 by Yehudi Menuhin is a competition of young musicians, organized by the European Broadcasting Union on behalf of the UNESCO International Music Council. Its mission is to support and promote young artists by means of the EBU broadcasting network. The competition´s co-organizers are Slovak Philharmonic Bratislava Music Festival and Slovak Radio. This year international jury has chosen 8 semifinalists (who were presented at two chamber concerts on September 30) out of 21 sound recordings of competitors from 12 countries. Three of them will be performing tonight and one will become the holder of the title New Talent 2005 – Award of the SPP Foundation[7/12/2005]
New Work by GodárA composition by Vladimír Godár commissioned by the Festival committee will resound at the Bratislava Music Festival 2005. Little Suite for Little David will be premiered on Wednesday, October 5, at 7.30 p. m. Performers: Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina conducted by Peter Breiner, Andrej Šeban – guitar, Stano Palúch – violin.[7/5/2005]
